The Need For Shelter
Geography- Stage One

This topic informs students of the different types of animals, where they live and why. It allows students to discover for themselves and develop higher order thinking skills as they take responsibility for their learning and thinking. This topic runs over the course of three lessons, allowing students to learn, remember and reflect on knowledge in relation to animal shelters. Students learn through listening, viewing, talking, creating and evaluating, this is a hands- on topic and at the end students are given the opportunity to create their own shelter.
