  • Associates geographical terms for places and features with visual images

Lesson Outcomes

  • Outcome ENS1.5: Compares and contrasts natural and built features in their local area and the ways in which people interact with these features.

Lesson Activities

  1. Discuss why animals use particular types of shelters: eg why don’t ants build their nest in a tree?

  2. Students watch a short video describing the various shelters animals live in.

  3. Students do a match sheet; students match the animal to the shelter it belongs in.
